The Programme
Introduction
In today's society industry operators and others alike must be constantly aware of the many serious security challenges that have a daily impact upon the property and people in their workplace. Those who hold specific responsibility for safety and security needs to develop a wide range of skills and a multi-dimensional profile, not only to anticipate and combat threats but also to deal efficiently with them as they occur.
Learning from the lessons of the past and the present may help to deter the problems of tomorrow. To this extent the Bassville Certification Training is designed particularly for those with little or no experience in the design and installation of electronic security systems, more-also for others at work in the industry that needs to update their skills.
These courses will offer a balance of classroom theory and hands-on practical in the Bassville Workshop/Training Center.
General Course Overview
These are specialized practice-oriented training courses in electronic security system that will run over a period of time depending on the particular programme and will take place in-country throughout the year. It will consist of contact teaching and tutorials, of case studies and workshops as well as site visitations.
Objectives of the Courses
These courses will give the participants a good understanding of the basic principles and practices in extra low voltage system such as - an introduction to design and installation of Closed Circuit Surveillance (CCTV) system, Fire Detection and Alarm system, Intruder Alarm system, Foundation Access Control system, Perimeter Protection, Public Address System, Voice & Data Network system etc.
By discussing the presented information and the practical experience with security professionals, the participants will gain a deeper understanding of their profession and will identify practices and procedures that facilitate their tasks back home.
Training Aims:
Upon the successful completion of the courses the participants will gain the following:
- An understanding of the basic theory of analogue and digital CCTV system, fire detection and alarm system, intruder detection and access control systems etc.
- Understanding of the different lighting parameters for CCTV cameras, practical lens calculations and the operational requirements.
- Learn and understand the basic IP Principles, handling video and data storage media as well how to configure an IP / Network CCTV solution.
- Learn how to configure motorized zoom, varifocal, aspherical and fixed lenses as well as the configuration and programming of digital and analogue recording devices for CCTV systems
- Learn how to plan an alarm system installation that conforms to all the correct standards and best practices
- Learn how to design an intruder alarm system and prepare specification document
- Learn also the programming of an intruder alarm control panel, fire alarm and access control system control panels respectively
- Learn how to test systems and complete the relevant documentation on a maintenance check up
- Learn the necessary alarm legislation and the best practice remote signalling technology for electronic security systems
